Swami Kriyananda says that sound is the most powerful sense influencing our experience of spirituality. Music is a rich part of Ananda’s daily devotional and meditation experience as well as the hallmark of monthly and yearly celebrations.
Kirtans are held monthly and consist of devotional chanting with short periods of meditation. Ananda kirtan leaders are disciples of Yogananda, meditators and trained in leading chants and have studied the spiritual music of Ananda. See the calendar for the next kirtan scheduled.
The Ananda Joy Choir has 30+ members. They sing choral, small group and solo pieces at Sunday services and events. Concerts with vocal and instrumental music are performed several times a year.
Our Christmas Concert on Dec 8 will be an inspiring event. More info on the event page.
The Joy Singers are a small group of experienced musicians and singers who specialize in uplifting and inspiring non-sectarian music. The Joy Singers are available to sing at weddings and other special events. Contact Ananda Portland for information. 503-626-3403
