Yoga for Joy is a beginners class dedicated to finding your center and feeling the freedom within.

This Restorative Yoga class will be led by Wendy Chapler.

Restorative Yoga involves supporting the limbs with blankets and pillows to give the opportunity for complete relaxation into poses while also stretching and improving energy flow and release of tension. All bodies can benefit from Restorative Yoga.

Ananda Yoga® is gentle and our instructors encourage and support appropriate modifications so all bodies can participate safely. Come early to class and speak with the instructor about your needs.

We are taking every precaution for your safety during this Covid pandemic. The room is large and well ventilated and we use air purifiers during classes. Masks are optional. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment if you prefer.

Wendy Chapler has been practicing yoga since the early 70’s. Upon retirement she took Ananda Yoga Teacher Training through the Ananda Bay Area School of Yoga and Meditation in Palo Alto, CA in June of 2018. She started a donation based community yoga class at Scotts Valley Ananda to make yoga accessible to all. Unfortunately, Covid closed down the Ananda Scotts Valley Temple so she is happy to return to teaching as a member of the Ananda Portland Temple. Her teaching has been described as kind and authentic.
“I find Ananda Yoga, with it’s affirmations and emphasis on moving energy throughout the body and going within, the truest yoga I’ve practiced. It’s not about how we look, but how we feel. Joyful, gentle yoga.” – Wendy
