Guru Night: A Beloved Ananda Portland Tradition
Each of the Masters of Self-realization are lovingly honored with a beautifully created shrine. Together we get to go on a mini-pilgrimage, visiting each shrine. The night progresses with chanting, prayer, meditation, readings and stories of each of our gurus in our lineage. We share in the blessings of this path and these Masters of Self-realization.
This is a free event, held at the Ananda Portland Community. Families are welcome.
What to Wear?
The entire event is outdoors at our community in Vermont Hills. Wear comfortable clothes and dress in layers prepared for the cool night air as the sun goes down. Bring a blanket to sit on if you like—chairs are provided.
Many Hands Make for Swift Work
This special event requires many hands to bring together and to take apart. Areas that you can help: designing and creating an altar, making prasad or an offering for one of the altars, setup of the evening, clean up following the event.
Please email us to let us know that you would like to help. We will also be emailing out requests for support.
