Sundays are a unique opportunity at Ananda. Each week we get together, in person and online, to share in the path of Self-Realization as brought by Paramhansa Yogananda.
These teachings are non-sectarian and all are welcome.
Service includes a fire ceremony and purification ritual, chanting and brief meditation, readings from the Bible and Bhagavad-Gita, affirmations, music, inspiration talks from our ministers, a spiritual ritual called The Festival of Light, and the opportunity for satsang (fellowship with other truth seekers).
Yogananda gave us many tools and techniques to use for our spiritual growth. At Sunday service, we are able to have a small experience of just about all of them. We are also able to be in the vibration of a sacred space with others who are commited to high-mindedness and self-expansion.
We would love to meet you and support you in your spiritual search. Please don’t hesitate to call us if you have questions. 503-626-3403
*We are not able to offer Sunday School for children at this time. Children are welcome, however, the service includes some quiet meditation and usually lasts about 1.5 hours, which can be a challenge for young children.
Ananda exists because of the generous support of truthseekers around the world. If you watch our services online, you can give a donation on our website HERE.
Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphal entry into Jerusalum of Jesus and his disciples. Palm fronds were placed in His path and waved in the air as crowds welcomed Him.
We will have special music and sharing this Sunday.
Matthew 21: 1 – 9
21 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
