DESCRIPTION:April 18\, 1926 - Yogananda chanted "O God Beautiful" with 3000
  people in Carnegie Hall\, New York City\, for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Many
  were in ecstasy and many were healed as devotion soared through their hea
 rts and into the heavens.\n\nYou can read what Yogananda said about this e
 vent in Autobiography of a Yogi: \n\n&nbsp\;\n\n“Mr. Hunsicker\,” I h
 ad confided to an American student\, “I am planning to ask the audience 
 to sing an ancient Hindu chant\, ‘O God Beautiful!’”\n\n“Sir\,” 
 Mr. Hunsicker had protested\, “these Oriental songs are alien to America
 n understanding. What a shame if the lecture were to be marred by a commen
 tary of overripe tomatoes!”\n\nI had laughingly disagreed. “Music is a
  universal language. Americans will not fail to feel the soul-aspiration i
 n this lofty chant.”*(2)\n\nDuring the lecture Mr. Hunsicker had sat beh
 ind me on the platform\, probably fearing for my safety. His doubts were g
 roundless\; not only had there been an absence of unwelcome vegetables\, b
 ut for one hour and twenty-five minutes the strains of “O God Beautiful!
 ” had sounded uninterruptedly from three thousand throats. Blasé no lon
 ger\, dear New Yorkers\; your hearts had soared out in a simple paean of r
 ejoicing! Divine healings had taken place that evening among the devotees 
 chanting with love the Lord’s blessed name."\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nJoin us in th
