World Brotherhood Day is an Ananda tradition which began in 1983. Every year we begin the holy season by giving our first gift to the world – the gift of financial support to strengthen the work of Ananda.
“The First Gift of the Season” is an affirmation of faith and support in the mission of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda to share the truth of world brotherhood across the planet. Donations can be given in any amount, however, the World Brotherhood donation is traditionally the amount of approximately one day’s wage.
As Nayaswami Jyotish says, the energy of Master is “trying to create one world family, one nation under God, one universal culture, where there is no such thing as race or religion or creed or national origin; where everybody in the world is seen as a brother and a sister and we are all there because we are children of God.”
Service will include chanting, brief meditation, music, affirmation, an inspirational talk, readings from scripture and joyful devotion.
This special Sunday Service Brahmachari Sagar will be with us. Sagar is a delightful teacher with years on the spiritual path to share. His warm humor and deep understanding of Yogananda’s teachings will make it a delightful morning.
After service, please stay for a delicious snack bar of international treats and the joy of sharing divine friendship.
