Start your weekend with a calmly energizing session of Ananda Yoga! Bring balance and harmony to your body/mind/spirit as each posture vitalizes the body and moves the energy up the spine while positive affirmations uplift your consciousness.
Laurie Chadwick is a long-time certified Ananda yoga instructor, and has offered YTT training of other Ananda yoga teachers. She offers a calm and often-humorous way to start off the weekend.

YOU CAN EXPERIENCE CLARITY IN YOUR LIFE! By doing yoga asanas, or postures, as a daily practice, you can experience more clarity and increased energy. Ananda Yoga is based on the ancient teachings of yoga as a method for expansion of consciousness and union with the One Source of all that is.
Melissa Heart has been teaching Ananda Yoga since 2012. She’s RYT-200 certified with Yoga Alliance. She’s been with Ananda Portland since 2007 and has served in many capacities at the Temple. Currently she works at the Living Wisdom School as the Primary Teacher.
Teaching yoga has always been a joy and it has transformed my life. It has always given me more energy and a calm acceptance of what is in front of me. I love that everyone can do yoga!
YOGA FOR DEEP RELAXATION
thursdays 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Restorative yoga is a practice of yoga that is about slowing down and relaxing deeply. With the aid of props to support your body, rather than your muscles, you can relax in the poses, without strain or pain, and so achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. In a restorative class, you may hardly move at all, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour. Restorative yoga is very mellow, making it an excellent antidote to stress.
Maitri Brown is a certified 200-RYT Ananda Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She served as Assistant Manager and taught at the studio for Ananda Yoga Palo Alto in California. She also taught yoga classes for Ananda Laurelwood Retreat Center. Her focus is on teaching gentle and restorative yoga, private and on-line yoga classes. She has many years of meditation training and practice through Ananda Self-Realization. She’s trained in mindfulness meditation, plus she’s a second-degree reiki practitioner.
My hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced.
These classes are offered on a drop-in basis. No pre-registration required.
First time visitors need to complete an information sheet; it is helpful to come 15 minutes before class starts.

These yoga classes are suitable for beginners as well as those experienced in practicing yoga postures. Affirmations accompany each pose and help to focus attention on the consciousness and energy being manifested as the body relaxes into the posture.
Our instructors apply modifications for all body types and abilities, enabling everyone to have an experience that is beneficial and without stress.
Yoga blankets and props are available for students, and you are encouraged to bring your own gear.
