Nayaswami Jyotish and Nayaswami Devi are lifelong disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda and studied for decades with Yogananda’s direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda. They live at the first Ananda community in Nevada City, California, founded in 1969.
They travel the world as emissaries of Paramhansa Yogananda and serve the light as United Nations Global Peace Ambassadors. Living examples of spiritual values in action, Jyotish and Devi share Yogananda’s teachings and bless people with the practical and heart-opening path of Kriya Yoga as warm and compassionate speakers and authors.
Both Nayaswami Jyotish and Nayaswami Devi were named kriyacharyas and spiritual directors of Ananda Sangha Worldwide by Swami Kriyananda, founder of Ananda, many years prior to his transition. Swami Kriyananda named Nayasawami Jyotish as his successor, Dharmacharya of Ananda Sangha Worldwide.
This special evening at our Ananda Portland temple and teaching center will include music and Jyotish & Devi sharing their experiences of 50+ years living in spiritual community, with Swami Kriyananda, and how community is a central principle in Yogananda’s teachings and the path of Kriya Yoga.
Some time will be given to Questions and Answers, book signing and meeting with Jyotish & Devi, and all are invited to stay for complimentary refreshments after the talk.
